it started with a three hour workshop, a linen tea towel, and a new obsession.
from student to screenery.
in a something for me moment, I enrolled in a three hour workshop at Little Lane Workshops and discovered a passion I never knew I had. I came home with my very first screen printed linen tea towel and an idea that would not leave me alone.
I bought a small screen, a starter kit of eco-friendly inks and a squeegee, and started hand drawing and cutting stencils at home. I ended up with so many tea towels that starting a business felt like the only logical next step. the screenery was born.
I now teach at the same Little Lane Workshops where it all began — which still feels a bit surreal in the best possible way.

screen printing is manual, creative, time-consuming and occasionally maddening. the process has its own personality and no two prints ever look exactly alike.
the day of the dead skull is one of the most complex prints in the collection — multiple layers, hand cut stencils, and hours of work. for a recovering perfectionist, that has been the best kind of challenge. the imperfections are not flaws. they are proof it was made by hand.

what started as linen tea towels has grown into napkins, cushion covers, table runners, and more. every design is original, every print is pulled by hand, and everything is made on natural linen.
I pretty much just love linen and everything about it — its durability, natural texture, how it wears over time, and the quiet luxury it brings to any home.

when a friend asked me to print custom napkins and aprons for their my kitchen rules instant restaurant, I said yes before they finished the sentence.
seeing the screenery's work on national television was a pinch me moment that still does not feel entirely real. our custom printed aprons have since made appearances on morning television too.
